[...] 1) The quest for grilling mastery goes well. I stunned TLEMK with my grilling of the round steak, using my own marinade, and the tried and true “sear it on both sides for less than a minute, then move it to the lower heat” method. Combined with a revamped broccoli recipe, I seemed to be moving in the right direction. She swooned at my manliness.Tonight I’m trying a butterflied pork chop. Mmm, butterflies. [...]

I'd never heard the bit about the diamonds in a pineapple and Fibonacci numbers. That's very cool, and just the kind of trivia that will make people look at me like I'm from another planet. Thanks for the link!

Obvious, yes, but sometimes you have to state it out loud, as a reminder if nothing else. [...]

You know, I was made to eat my vegetables, and I still didn't like most of them. :) However, of the green variety, peas and beans I always liked. Spinach, too, in the leafy family.

Thanks for adding jumping spiders to my train of thought during morning coffee.

I've got to confess that I've always quite liked broccoli (without any additional flavouring), but then my mother always insisted that I eat my vegetables. My favourite green veg by far has to be Brussels sprouts. They have a slight edge of bitterness/metallicness which is great with a spicy sauce (such as good old HP Sauce over here).
